Limits of NameSapiens tools: automated screening, public sources, UDRP Pre-Check and value estimates are not legal advice or a clearance search.

NameSapiens, operated by Super Sapiens AI, provides automated tools for evaluating names, trademarks and domains. These tools are designed to help you decide better and faster, not to replace the work of a professional. This document explains what our tools do, what they do not do, and how to read their results. The information provided by the platform is for informational purposes and does not constitute legal, tax or financial advice.

Preliminary screening, not a clearance search

The Name Check, the trademark pre-screening built into the naming service and the Name Readiness Score are forms of automated preliminary screening. They query public sources, apply similarity criteria and return an indicative score. They are not a professional clearance search and are not equivalent to the opinion of a trademark attorney or a lawyer.

In particular, our tools:

  • do not examine every trademark register in the world or every class of goods and services with the depth of a professional analysis;
  • do not assess conceptual, phonetic and visual similarity with the rigour applied by a trademark office or a court;
  • do not take into account unregistered trademarks, company names, trade names, shop signs or other distinctive signs protected without filing;
  • do not check copyright, personality rights or other rights that may restrict the use of a name;
  • do not replace a registrability opinion.

Before filing a trademark, registering a domain at significant cost or launching a product, we recommend commissioning a full clearance search from a qualified professional.

Public sources and their limits

Our assessments rely on public sources, including trademark databases (EUIPO, TMview, WIPO Global Brand Database), RDAP and WHOIS data from domain registries, web archives, certificate transparency logs, search engines and open knowledge bases. These sources have inherent limits:

  • Non-exhaustive coverage. Not all national offices are included or updated at the same frequency. Italian trademarks are consulted exclusively through TMview and not directly in the UIBM database.
  • Update delays. A filing made a few days before the check may not yet be visible.
  • Temporary unavailability. Sources may be unreachable or return incomplete responses; in that case the result is flagged as partial.
  • Third-party data. We do not control the accuracy of the information published by the sources and cannot guarantee it.
  • Limited domain data. Many registries redact holder data; domain availability can change at any time, and the quick check reflects only the status at the moment of the query.

UDRP Pre-Check: an estimate, not a prediction

The UDRP Pre-Check produces an automated estimate of the likelihood of a favourable outcome in a domain recovery procedure, based on the information you enter and on what can be found in public sources. The estimate:

  • depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information provided;
  • does not take into account documents, evidence and circumstances that only a professional examination can bring to light;
  • does not predict the decision of a panel, which remains discretionary and may differ from the estimate;
  • does not constitute legal advice or a commitment by us or by our partner law firm to pursue the procedure.

A high score does not guarantee recovery of the domain; a low score does not rule out other avenues of protection. The decision to start a procedure should be taken after discussing the case with the partner law firm, which assesses it on its merits.

Domain value estimates

When the platform indicates an estimated domain value or an expected price range in a negotiation, this is a heuristic estimate based on characteristics of the name (length, extension, words contained, history, estimated traffic) and on comparisons with public transactions. The domain market is illiquid and the final price depends on the willingness of the holder and the buyer. Estimates are not a valuation for accounting, tax or financing purposes and should not be used as a basis for financial decisions without independent verification.

Scores, thresholds and verdicts

The Name Readiness Score and its thresholds (Go, Caution, Stop) are a summary system designed to make different names comparable. A "Go" verdict means that preliminary screening found no obvious obstacles in the sources consulted; it does not mean that the name is free, registrable or risk-free. A "Stop" verdict flags significant problems but may result from false positives. The methodology, weights and limits are documented on the Method page.

AI assistant

Responses from the Sapi assistant are generated by artificial intelligence models and may contain errors, inaccuracies or outdated information. Sapi does not give legal advice, does not promise that a name is registrable and does not make decisions on your behalf. Verify any material information before relying on it.

Monitoring and brand protection

Trademark monitoring relies on public sources and may produce false positives (irrelevant findings) and false negatives (undetected threats). It does not guarantee the detection of every unlawful use of your trademark and does not replace professional watching. Takedown communication templates are drafts that you must check and for which you remain responsible.

No guarantee of results

To the extent permitted by law, the services and tools are provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose, and without guarantee of results. You remain solely responsible for decisions taken on the basis of the results provided. The applicable limitations of liability are set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Consult a professional

For trademark registration, conflict checks, recovery procedures and dispute management, we encourage you to consult a trademark attorney or a lawyer. On request, we can put you in touch with our partner law firm. Questions about this document can be sent to .
